Description
Twenty years after his first draft of an "Imaginary Symphony", Marc Minkowski goes back to his favourite composer, the great Rameau. It is undoubtedly in his orchestral pieces that this genius composer expressed himself most intimately: rich creativity, constantly evolving melodic surprises, rich instrumentation, everything is dazzling! And Les Musiciens du Louvre are in well-known territory, led with confidence and sensuality by one of the most fervent specialist of the composer, who highlights the orchestral gems of Castor et Pollux, the Indes Galantes, the Paladins, and sets fire to Rameau's emblematic baritone arias: the grotesque Orcan calling for vengeance, the solar invocation of the Peruvian Huascar, the horrendous monster dreaded by Anténor in Dardanus... are here interpreted by the brilliant Thomas Dolié. For the release of the CD recorded during the great penitence, Marc Minkowski proudly leads his troops in a sumptuous procession to the glory of Rameau!
